It helps the screw force be translated to clamping force to keep the clamps from moving. Eases assembly and disassembly of metal parts. Lubricates and protects metal parts from rust, corrosion, galling and seizing on high temperature applications.
Use Anti-Seize on the aluminum fittings to keep the fittings from galling in the radiator. Also on titanium bolts to keep from galling.
Loctite Brand Anti-Seize is copper-based with Graphites added.
